Advertising agreement between the
City of Auburn and the Auburn Reporter
The City of Auburn agrees to purchase display advertising space in the Auburn Reporter, for the purpose of producing
a community newsletter, or City Report, for the citizens of Auburn, at a minimum frequency of once each month
during the period from November, 2000, through December, 2001. This contract may be renewed for an additional
year upon mutual agreement of both parties.
The City of Aubum will purchase at least one full page each month at a rate of $1,275, which includes printing in
black plus one additional color. A second spot color is available at a cost of $75. If the City should decide to use two
pages each month on a regular basis, theAuburn Reporter will designate the center two pages for the City, depending
on availability, for a total cost of $2,000 for both pages, which will include printing in black plus two additional
colors. The increase to two or more pages may be made at anytime during this contract.
These rates will be honored for the duration of this contract, with adjustments limited only to unforeseen postal-rate
or newsprint increases. Adjustments will be limited to the actual cost increase, with newsprint calculated to the
actual amount used by the City Report. Charges for additional circulation that may be requested by city officials will
be charged at $210 per 1,000 for printing and distribution, based on current printing and mailing costs.
The City of Auburn will have full control over the editorial content and layout of the city's page. The Auburn
Reporter will provide production assistance when requested by the City, including scanning of photographs.
The Auburn Reporter agrees to mail a minimum of 25,000 copies of the Auburn Reporter to residents and businesses
within the Auburn city limits each month. The actual carrier routes may be selected by city staff. We also agree to
provide the City with up to 500 copies of the newspaper for city offices and employees. When requested, the Auburn
Reporter agrees to provide the City of Auburn with postal receipts from the US Postal Service for the verification of
the number of newspapers mailed each month.
