HomeMy WebLinkAbout3335 RESOLUTION NO. 3 3 3 5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO IMPLEMENT A CITIZENS COMMITTEE AND RETAIN AN OUTSIDE CONSULTANT TO STUDY WITH REGARD TO BECOMING FINANCIAL PARTNER WITH THE AUBURN YMCA TO CONSTRUCT AN AUBURN COMMUNITY CENTER/YMCA. WHEREAS, the City Council passed Resolution No. 3256 on August 21, 2000 to study the potential of becoming a financial and operating partner with the Auburn Valley branch of the YMCA of Greater Seattle to construct an Auburn Community/YMCA, as an integral part of a Community Campus at Les Gove Park, WHEREAS, the City Council desires additional community input to study the potential for such an agreement, WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to create a citizen's committee to formulate recommendations to the City Council related to the suitability of a YMCAJAuburn Community Center, as well as other proposals for the development of an Auburn Community Center, WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to make a decision regarding this partnership by December 17, 2001, Resolution No. 3335 March 5, 2001 Page i NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING, DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City of Auburn will appoint a Citizen's committee to formulate recommendations to the City Council. Section 2. The City of Auburn will retain the services of an outside consultant to facilitate the work of the citizen's committee. Section 3. The City of Auburn will receive said recommendations by the committee by September 30, 2001. Section4. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. DATED and SIGNED this .-.~day of March, 2001.
