HomeMy WebLinkAbout3363 RESOLUTION NO. 3 3 6 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT APPROVED BY RESOLUTION NO. 3280 ADOPTED NOVEMBER 20, 2000 AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETVVEEN THE CITY OF AUBURN (CITY) AND DLR GROUP FOR CONSULTING SERVICES TO STUDY THE COMMUNITY NEEDS FOR A PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING BY ADDING AN ADDENDUM TO INCLUDE THE COMMUNITY NEEDS FOR A SOUTH FIRE STATION. WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the Auburn City Council held November 20, 2000 the Council adopted Resolution No. 3280 authorizing executing an agreement for consulting services to study the needs for a Public Safety Building, and WHEREAS, the Auburn City Council reviewed the studies on the Public Safety Building during a Special Meeting on May 17, 2001, and WHEREAS, the Council determined that it would be desirable to undertake a similar study for a proposed new south Fire Station that potentially be considered for funding jointly with the Public Safety Building, and WHEREAS, the most cost effective and timely means to complete the work for the South Fire Station would be to add a addendum to the original contract with DLR Group, and Resolution 3363 June 21, 2001 Page 1 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES THAT: Section 1. Purpose. The Mayor of the City of Auburn is authorized to execute an addendum to the Agreement between the City of Auburn and DLR Group for consulting services. A copy of said addendum to the Agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this reference. .Section2. Implementation. Reynolds, City Attorney Resolution 3363 June 21,2001 Page 3 Addendum Number 1 Auburn Public Safety Facilities Planning and Design h '~ ~ d f /1. / 2001 This Agreement entered into t is ~ ay o ~ , by and between the City of Auburn, a municipal corporation un~r thetlaws of the State of Washington ("City'), and DLR Group ("Consultants'). ~' Witnesseth: Whereas, the City and Consultant entered into a Professional Services Agreement (Contract) dated November 20, 2000 for Auburn Public Safety Facilities Planning and Design; and Whereas the City requires the Consultant to provide additional work in terms of an Auburn Prototypical Fire Station Planning Study; Whereas the additional fee payment is related to this addition to the scope of original study; Now therefore, the Consultant agrees to perform the following phases: · Phase I- Planning Base Phase II - Architectural Program · Phase III-SitingAIternatives Phase IV - Final Report · Complete these phases within ninety (90) days of Notice to Proceed. DLR Group proposes the following additional fees to complete these services: Labor Allowance DLR Group $36,160 Consultants Rider Hunt Levett & Bailey $ 1,900 (Cost Estimators) Total Fixed Fee (labor) $38,060 Reimbursable Expense Allowance $ 2,000 Section 1: Compensation for this study will be a fixed fee of thirty-eight thousand sixty dollars ($38,060) plus reimbursable expenses estimated at two thousand dollars ($2,000). Section 2: The Architects will retain the cost estimating firm of Rider Hunt Levett & Bailey as consultants on the study. Section 3: As required, the City will retain and directly compensate consultants in the disciplines of Land Appraisal, Environmental, Hazardous Materials Geotechnical, and Surveying.
