HomeMy WebLinkAbout3377 RESOLUTION NO. 3 3 7 7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO INCREASE THE CITY'S FINANCIAL COMMITMENT TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TRANSIT STATION PARKING GARAGE THAT INCLUDES THE CITY'S ACQUISITION OF RETAIL SPACE AND 180 PARKING STALLS AND EXTERIOR ARCHITECTURAL IMPROVEMENTS BY TWO HUNDRED EIGHTY-THREE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED NINETY-SIX' DOLLARS ($283,696.00). WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, under Resolution 3278, the City has agreed to participate with Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit) in the construction of the transit station parking garage, and WHEREAS, the City, has agreed to purchase the first floor retail space and 180 parking stalls in accordance with said resolution, and WHEREAS, the City through the input of the Technical Advisory Committee, recently amended downtown Zoning Ordinances and the adopted Downtown Revitalization Plan, required the inclusion of additional architectural design features to insure that the building meets the needs of the community, future commercial tenants and fits in well with the downtown, and WHEREAS, the City and Sound Transit have agreed to share the additional costs resulting from these charges, and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, IN REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES THAT: -------------------- Resolution 3377 July 31,2001 Page 1 Section 1. The Mayor of the City of Auburn is herewith authorized to increase the City's financial commitment to the Transit Station Parking Garage for the acquisition of 10,000 square feet of retail space and 180 parking stalls that are over and above those required by the agency for commuters and exterior architectural improvements by Two Hundred Eight-three Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-six Dollars ($283,696.00). Section 2.
