HomeMy WebLinkAbout3393 RESOLUTION NO. 3393 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, APPOINTING AN AGENT TO RECEIVE ANY CLAIM FOR DAMAGES FILED AGAINST THE CITY OF AUBURN AS REQUIRED BY CHAPTER 4.96 RCW. WHEREAS, state law requires that a claim for damages against a municipality be presented to and filed with the governing body of the local government entity; and WHEREAS, Engrossed House Bill 1530, passed by the 2001 Legislature, amends RCW 4.96.020 to require that each local government appoint an identified agent to receive claims for damages; provide the agent's address during the local government's business hours and record such information with the county auditor; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the appropriate agent for receipt of any such claims filed against the City of Auburn, Washington, is Auburn's City Clerk or Deputy City Clerk. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Pursuant to RCW 4.96.020, as amended by Engrossed House Bill 1530, the City of Auburn City Clerk or Deputy City Clerk is hereby designated as the agent to receive all claims for damages filed against the City of Auburn. Resolution No. 3393 October 1, 2001 Page 1 Section 2. All claims for damages filed against the City of Auburn shall be presented to: The City Clerk or Deputy City Clerk City of Auburn 25 West Main Street Auburn, WA 98001 Section 3.
