HomeMy WebLinkAbout3435 RESOLUTION NO. 3435 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH KING COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND PARKS TO ACCEPT FIFTY THOUSAND AND N0/100S DOLLARS ($50,000) IN GRANT FUNDS TO DESIGN, DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN A YOUTH BASEBALL/SOFTBALL FIELD AT THE EXISTING GSA BALLFIELD COMPLEX. WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has various parks and recreation programs for its citizens, including baseball and softball programs that utilize various parks in the City, including GSA Park; and WHEREAS, the ball fields at GSA Park are in need of maintenance and other design - development improvements; and, WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has received approval for funding of such maintenance, design and development work from King County, which funding shall be pursuant to the terms of a contract between the City and King County (Department of Natural Resources and Parks), which contract is beneficial for the City and its baseball and softball programs. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Auburn are hereby authorized to execute the contract with King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks, to provide grant funding from January 1, 2002 to December 31, 2003, to the City of Auburn for use by the City to design and develop a youth baseball/softball size field at GSA Park. A copy of said Contract is attached hereto and designated Exhibit "A" and is incorporated by reference in this Ordinance. Resolution No. 3435 February5,2002 Page 1 of 2 Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this legislation, including providing for the expenditure and appropriation therefore in appropriate budget documents.
