HomeMy WebLinkAbout3438RESOLUTION NO. 3 4 3 8 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, REQUESTING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION (GSA) DEDICATE CERTAIN LAND TO THE CITY OF AUBURN FOR PUBLIC USE BY THE CITY OF AUBURN. WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has long been the home of Federal Government facilities now operated by the General Services Administration (GSA); and WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has operated Fire Station 33 out of space leased from the GSA; and, WHEREAS, the City is seeking sites to locate a Public Safety complex; Public Safety Training Facility and other possible public uses; and, WHEREAS, the GSA has made the City of Auburn aware that the potential exists for the dedication of land located at the southern end of the GSA property, to the City, to accommodate such uses; and, WHEREAS, the City believes that this land may be suitable for such public Uses. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington, hereby requests that the General Services Administration (GSA) and the United States of America dedicate to the City of Auburn certain land located at the southern end of the present GSA property, to accommodate a City of Auburn Public Safety complex; Resolution No. 3438: March 8, 2002 Page 1 Public Safety Training Facility and other public uses by the City of Auburn, and that GSA undertake such actions as maybe necessary to dedicate the site suitable for public use by the City of Auburn.
