HomeMy WebLinkAbout3464 RESOLUTION NO.3 4 6 4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR A WASHINGTON WilDLIFE AND RECREATION PROGRAM (WWRP) PROJECT TO THE INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION (lAC) AS PROVIDED IN CHAPTER 79A.15 RCW, ACQUISITION OF HABITAT CONSERVATION AND OUTDOOR RECREATION LANDS WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has approved a comprehensive plan that includes the project area contemplated by this Resolution; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of WWRP, state funding assistance is requested to aid in financing the cost of land acquisition and/or facility development; and WHEREAS, the City considers it in the best public interest to complete the land acquisition and/or facility development project described in the application. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows; Section 1. That Parks Director, Daryl Faber, be authorized to make formal application to lAC for funding assistance. Section 2. That any fund assistance received in connection with this application will be used for implementation of the project referenced above (Olson Farm). Section 3. That the City hereby certifies that its share of project funding is committed and will be derived from general city revenue in the appropriate City Budget. Section 4. The City of Auburn acknowledges that we are responsible for supporting all non-cash commitments to the sponsor share should they not materialize. The City of Auburn acknowledges that any property acquired or facility developed with lAC financial aid must be placed in use as an outdoor recreation facility and be retained in such use in perpetuity unless otherwise provided and agreed to by our organization and lAC (generally, lAC approves removing facilities from the perpetuity requirement when the facilities have reached their designed life expectancy, or because of extraordinary vandalism, acts of nature, fire, etc.). Section 6. This resolution becomes part of a formal application to lAC; and Section 7. The City shall also provide appropriate opportunity for public comment on this application. Section 8. The Mayor is further authorized to take such other and further steps as would be appropriate to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 9.
