HomeMy WebLinkAbout3512 RESOLUTION NO. 3 5 1 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON NAMING A PUBLIC FACILITY WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF AUBURN WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 2555, there is established in the City of Auburn a process for the naming of public parks, property and facilities; and, WHEREAS, in accordance with said Resolution, it is appropriate to consider such things as the names of geographical areas or references; natural or geological features; historical or cultural significance; or individuals (or entities) who have made substantial donations to the public park, property or facilities, or who have been otherwise instrumental in the acquisition or development of the public park, property or facilities; and, WHEREAS, the City is just completing significant infrastructure improvements as a part of the 3rd Street SW Grade Separation Project, which improvements included the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Overpass ("C" Street Bridge); and, WHEREAS, this project and the "C" Street Bridge were the result of the substantial efforts on the part of former City of Auburn Mayor, Charles A. Booth; and, WHEREAS, in keeping with the parameters of Resolution No. 2555, it would be appropriate to name the "C" Street Bridge in honor of Mayor Charles A. Booth, proximate to or contemporaneous with its opening and dedication. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the "C" Street Bridge shall be officially named the "Charles A. Booth Bridge." Resolution No.3512 August 1, 2002 Page 1 of 2 Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 3.
