A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
AWARD NEIGHBORHOOD MATCHING GRANTS TO SELECTED
APPLICANTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Auburn appropriated funds in its
Year 2002 General Fund budget for the purpose of Neighborhood Matching Grants.
WHEREAS, the City's Department of Planning and Community Development
received several proposed grants from prospective applicants; and.
WHEREAS, these grant applications were reviewed by City staff and the City
of Auburn's Human Service Commission in accordance to the management
memorandum approved by the Mayor and City Council of Auburn; and
WHEREAS, the Human Service Commission forwarded their
recommendation for funding to the Mayor of Auburn who, in turn, submits them to
the City Council's review and approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF AUBURN, KING COUNTY,
WASHINGTIN, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Purpose. The City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor of
Auburn to award Neighborhood Matching Grant to the projects outlined in Exhibit #1,
which is attached and hereto incorporated into this resolution.
Section 2. Implementation. The Mayor of the city of Auburn is hereby
authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to
carry out the directions of this legislation.

Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force upon
passage and signatures hereon.

Lakeland Hills Kennedy Street Median Landscaping: $1,750
Homeowners Association
Installation of boulders in the Kennedy Street
Median in exchange for the Lakeland Hills
Homeowners Association agreement to maintain
the median for the next five years.
YMCA/Soroptimist Girls of Promise $1,350
Extension of the Girls of Promise program to
Cascade Middle School in exchange for 200
hours of community service performed by the
sum total of all the program participants.
North Auburn Baptist Church North Auburn Tutoring Proiect: $3,500
Provision of a minimum of 100 hours of after-
school tutoring, along with other educational
enrichment activities, for neighborhood children
and their families in North Auburn.
Total: All Matching Grants for PY2002 $6,600
