HomeMy WebLinkAbout3570RESOLUTION NO. 3 5 7 0 A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington, setting a public hearing to consider approval of an extension of the present moratorium on the filing of applications for licenses, permits and approvals for sexually oriented businesses WHEREAS, the City intends to develop zoning and land use regulations for sexually oriented businesses, and the City Council tasked its Planning Commission or an ad-hoc committee thereof to study the issues involved in sexually oriented businesses in order to bring before the City Council recommendations on sexually oriented businesses; and, WHEREAS, in order to insure adequate time to fully study the legal and practical factors involved in developing sexually oriented business zoning code, land use and comprehensive planning provisions for the City of Auburn, the City Council established a moratorium on the filing of applications for permits and approvals for sexually oriented businesses through adoption of its Resolution No. 3436, as allowed by section 35A.63.220 of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW): and, WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 35A.63.220, the City Council needs to hold a public hearing to consider the extension of the moratorium. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows: Section 1. That a public hearing on a proposal to extend the moratorium on the filing of applications for licenses, permits and approvals for Resolution No. 3570 February 6, 2003 Page 1 sexually oriented businesses be, and the same hereby is set for 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, on the 3rd day of March, 2003, at Washington Elementary School, 20 E Street N.E., Auburn, Washington.
