A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO NEGOTIATE
CONTRACTS AND ENGAGE CONSULTANTS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF
PROPOSALS FOR A CITY OF AUBURN MUNICIPAL COURT AND
POLICE DEPARTMENT BUILDING
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn is in need of facilities to house its municipal court
and police department and meet the present and future needs of the City in these
regards; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has opportunities available within its corporate
boundaries that could accommodate its need for municipal court and police department
facilities and that promote economic revitalization of the downtown business district;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has actively studied and made preliminary plans
for developing new public safety facilities for the past three years; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has held discussions on housing said facilities on
a variety of sites throughout the community; and,
WHEREAS, in order to explore the efforts by the City of Auburn to develop
municipal court and police department facilities, it is appropriate that the Mayor be
authorized to take action including negotiating contracts with consultants, professionals
and developers toward that end.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor of The City of Auburn, is hereby authorized to negotiate
development agreements between The City and AUBURN ON MAIN, L.L.C. a
Washington limited liability company, for a municipal court and police department
building to be located at or in the vicinity of 340 East Main Street, Auburn, Washington.
Upon negotiation, the ultimate agreement shall be brought back to the City Council for
approval and authorization.
Section 2. The Mayor is further authorized to engage such other consultants and
professionals as may be necessary and/or appropriate to facilitate the development of
agreements and/or leases, and identify options, for a City of Auburn municipal court and
police department building.
Section 3. The Mayor is further authorized to implement such administrative
procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation.
Section 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage and
signatures hereon.
