A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON DECLARING CERTAIN VOLUMES
IN THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT'S LAW LIBRARYAS SURPLUS
AND AUTHORIZING THEIR DISPOSAL
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn Legal Department has converted its primary source
of legal materials from hard-bound books to electronic format; and
WHEREAS, this change not only gives the Department greater access to legal
research materials, it does so with significantly increased speed; and
WHEREAS, in light of the limitations of space in the Department, and the reliance
on electronic research tools, the disposition of the hard-bound books would alleviate to a
degree the space limitations; and
WHEREAS, it would be appropriate to surplus the hard-bound law books and
dispose of them by auction or other sale mechanism, provided that if no willing buyers can
be located, it would be appropriate to dispose of them through gift to another governmental
agency or non-profit entity.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL
WASHINGTON HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
Section 1. That the law books identified below are declared to be surplus, and the
Mayor is authorized to dispose of and convey such property through appropriate sale or
donation to another governmental agency or non-profit entity.
