A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
DEDICATE AND NAME A NEW PARK SITE, LOCATED AT 1440
"U" COURT NORTHWEST, AUBURN, WASHINGTON AS
"JORNADA PARK"
WHEREAS, the City Council has set a policy regulating the naming of
parks, recreation facilities, and other public facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City Council further believes that facilities should be
named for neighborhood or geographic identification, historical figures or
events, natural features, individuals who have made significant contributions to
the park system or donated land for park facilities, or individuals who have
contributed outstanding civic service to the City, community, or City
government;
WHEREAS, the neighboring homeowners association, working with the
consultant in the design of the project, brought the name "Jornada Park" to the
Park Board at the March, 2004 meeting and requested that this name be
forwarded to Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH
RESOLVES as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor of the City of Auburn is hereby authorized to
name the park site located at 1440 "U" Court Northwest as Jornada Park.
Section 2. The park shall be officially dedicated as "Jornada Park,"
and appropriate park signage with that name shall be installed.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force
upon passage and signatures hereon.
