A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, RELATING TO ITS INTENTION TO
ANNEX CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED IN KING COUNTY
ADJACENT TO THE CITY'S EASTERN BOUNDARY
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, Washington, received an application
(ANX05-0001) to annex a single parcel of land with an area slightly less than
one acre located in King County adjacent to the City's eastern boundary; :and
WHEREAS, the subject parcels are also part of an unincorporated area
which the City has been working on annexing; and
WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled Council meeting on December 20,
2004, the City Council authorized City staff to prepare the necessary
annexation petition stating that said area, if annexed by the City of Auburn, will
assume the pro rata portion of the existing bonded indebtedness of the City of
Auburn; and
WHEREAS, the City received a petition from the single property, thereby
representing 100% of the assessed valuation of the property lying within the
limits of the proposed annexation area, according to the assessed valuation for
general taxation; and
WHEREAS, on May 2, 2005 the City Council held a public hearing at

7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Auburn City Hall, at which time the
City Council recommended approval of said annexation.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH
RESOLVES THAT:
Section 1. City Staff is hereby instructed to file the Notice of Intention to
Annex with the King County Boundary Review Board.
Section 2. The City of Auburn hereby requests the King County
Boundary Review Board to approve the annexation of a single parcel of land
with an area slightly less than one acre located in King County adjacent to the
City's eastern boundary, legally described in Exhibit A attached hereto.
Section 3. The City Council finds that the annexation is consistent with
the City of Auburn's goals and policies related to annexations as enumerated in
Chapter 13 of the City's Comprehensive Plan.
Section 4. The City Council further finds that the annexation is
consistent with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan of the City for orderly and
controlled growth, and accomplishes the purposes and objectives speciified in
RCW 36.93.010 based on the facts herein.
Section 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such

administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of
this legislation.
