RESOLUTION NO. 3980
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, RECEIVING A PETITION FOR
VACATION AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING TO
CONSIDER THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF
BOUNDARY BOULEVARD, LOCATED EAST OF WEST
VALLEY HIGHWAY, WEST OF SR-167, NORTH OF THE
AUBURNIALGONA CITY LIMIT LINE, AND SOUTH OF 1650
WEST VALLEY HIGHWAY WITHIN THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, Washington has received a petition signed by
owners of at least two-thirds (2/3) of the property abutting the portion of Boundary Blvd,
located east of West Valley Hwy, west of SR-167, north of the AuburnlAlgona city lirnit
line, and south of 1650 West Valley Hwy, located within the City of Auburn, Washington,
requesting that the same be vacated; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 35.79.010 of the Revised Code of Washington, a
hearing on such vacation shall be set by Resolution, with the date of such hearing being
not more than sixty (60) days nor less than twenty (20) days after the date of passage of
such Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. That a hearing on the vacation of a portion of Boundary Blvd, located
within the City of Auburn, Washington, legally described as follows:
THAT PORTION OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF
THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 23,

TOWNSHIP 21 NORTH, RANGE 4 EAST OF THE
WILLAMETTE MERIDIAN, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
COMMENCING AT THE EXISTING MONUMENT LOCATED
AT THE INTERSECTION OF WEST VALLEY HIGHWAY
AND BOUNDARY BOULEVARD; THENCE N 88044' 24" E,
ALONG THE MONUMENT LINE OF SAID BOUNDARY
BOULEVARD, 60.90 FEET TO THE EASTERLY MARGIN
OF SAID WEST VALLEY HIGHWAY AND THE TRUE POINT
OF BEGINNING; THENCE CONTINUING N 88044' 24" E,
ALONG SAID MONUMENT LINE, 240.43 FEET TO THE
WEST MARGIN OF SR 167 AS DELINEATED ON SHEET 3
OF THAT CERTAIN PLAT ENTITLED SR 167, AUBURN:
17TH ST. SW TO S. 285TH ST., NOW OF RECORD AND ON
FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF
TRANSPORTATION AT OLYMPIA, WASHINGTON,
BEARING DATE OF APPROVAL OCTOBER 23, 1969;
THENCE N 20 44' 16" E, ALONG SAID WEST MARGIN,
120.18 FEET TO THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF LOT 3 OF
CITY OF AUBURN SHORT PLAT NUMBER SP-5-81 AS
RECORDED MAY 12,1981 UNDER RECORDING NUMBER
8105120506, RECORDS OF KING COUNTY,
WASHINGTON; THENCE S 780 44' 12" W, ALONG THE
SOUTH LINE OF SAID LOT 3, A DISTANCE OF 265.69
FEET TO SAID EASTERLY MARGIN OF SAID WEST
VALLEY HIGHWAY; THENCE S 11008' 12" E, ALONG SAID
EASTERLY MARGIN, 74.85 FEET TO THE TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING.
and as shown on the document attached hereto, marked as Exhibit "A" and incorporated
herein by this reference, is hereby set for 7:30 p.m. on the 20th day of March, 2006, at
the City Council Chambers at 25 West Main Street, Auburn, Washington, 98001, with all
persons wishing to speak to the vacation at the public hearing being invited to attend.
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative
procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation, including
posting notice of such public hearing as required by State law and City Ordinance.

Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force upon
passage and signatures hereon.
