HomeMy WebLinkAbout3984 RESOLUTION NO.3 9 8 4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, ACCEPTING AN APPLICATION TO ANNEX CERTAIN PROPERTIES LOCATED IN KING COUNTY ADJACENT TO THE CITY'S NORTHWESTERN BOUNDARY AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PREPARE THE NECESSARY SIXTY PERCENT PETITION FOR APPLICATION AS REQUIRED BY STATE LAW WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, Washington, received an application (ANX06-0001) to annex two parcels of land located in King County adjacent to the City's northwestern boundary; and WHEREAS, the total assessed value of the applicant's parcels is sufficient to consider the annexation of additional properties that are within the immediate vicinity of the applicant's property and adjacent to the Auburn city limits; and WHEREAS, City staff reviewed the application for annexation and determined that a logical boundary of the proposed annexation include all the properties along both sides of South 328th Street between 51 st Avenue South and 56th Avenue South and the properties north of South 328th Street between 56th Avenue South and 58th Avenue South. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows: Section 1. The City of Auburn hereby accepts the Ten Percent Application for Annexation and authorizes City staff to prepare the necessary Resolution No. 3984 February 15, 2006 Page 1 of 2 Sixty Percent Petition for Annexation for consideration by the affected property owners as required by state law (RCW 35A.14.12o). Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement administrative procedures necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 3.
