A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, REGARDING TENANT
RELOCATION COSTS FOR THE CITY OF AUBURN
DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Auburn City Council has engaged in certain actions in
support of its City Of Auburn Downtown Community Revitalization Program; and
WHEREAS, state and federal law require that any local government
receiving federal funding for a specific project shall pay the relocation costs of
those residents and businesses displaced by that project; and
WHEREAS, RCW 8.26.010 exempts a local government from paying such
relocation costs for non-federally funded projects upon action by the governing
body of that government to exercise that option; and
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn is not receiving any federal funding for the
above-described project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. Pursuant to RCW 8.26.010(2), the City of Auburn elects not
to comply with the provisions of RCW 8.26.035 through 8.26.115 in connection
with its acquisition of property for City Of Auburn Downtown Community
Revitalization Program.

Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to implement such
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this
leg islation.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force
upon passage and signatures hereon.
