RESOLUTION NO. 4481
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR A
PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER ADDING A NEW
PROJECT TO THE SIX YEAR 2009-2014
TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
(TIP) FOR A NEW TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT THE
INTERSECTION OF 4T" STREET SE AND F
STREET SE .
WHEREAS, on September 5, 2008 the Transportation Section of the
Public Works Department submitted a grant application to the Washington State
Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Highway Safety Improvement Program
(HSIP) for a new traffic signal at the intersection of 4th Street SE and F Street
SE; and
WHEREAS, on February 20, 2009, WSDOT notified the City in writing of
the grant award in the amount of $396,720 with no required City match in funds
based on the new signal resulting in safer performance of the intersection,
reduction in the number/severity of crashes, and that it will accommodate the
increased need for vehicle capacity; and
WHEREAS, RCW 35.77.010 requires that the legislative body of each
City is required to prepare and adopt a Comprehensive Transportation
Improvement Program (TIP) for the ensuing six years. The program may at any

time be revised by a majority of the legislative body of a City, but only after
conducting a public hearing.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 35.77.010 of the Revised Code of
Washington, a hearing on such revision to the TIP shall be set by Resolution,
with the date of such hearing being not more than sixty (60) days nor less than
twenty (20) days after the date of passage of such Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. A public hearing on the addition of a new traffic signal
project at the intersection of 4th Street SE and F Street SE incorporated herein
by this reference, is hereby set for 7:30 p.m. on the 15th day of June, 2009, at
the City Council Chambers at 25 West Main Street, Auburn, Washington,
98001, with all persons wishing to speak to the TIP addition at the public
hearing being invited to attend.
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of
this legislation.
Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect upon
passage and signatures hereon.
