RESOLUTION NO. 4483
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, ENCOURAGING
ECONOMIC RENEWAL EFFORTS
WHEREAS, the economic downturn is having a critical impact on
everyday Americans who are struggling to maintain or find jobs in an increasingly
difficult environment; and
WHEREAS, those same Americans are the taxpayers that provide the
revenue needed to operate essential government services; and
WHEREAS, our taxpayer dollars should be spent to maximize the creation
of American jobs and restoring the economic vitality of our communities to the
extent permitted by law; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of any domestically produced products will
immediately help struggling American families and will help stabilize our greater
economy; and
WHEREAS, any spending should - to every extent possible - include a
commitment from the City of Auburn to buy materials, goods and services for
projects from companies that are produced within the United States.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. The City of Auburn will work to encourage the creation of
American jobs and restoring economic growth and opportunity by spending
funds on products and services that both create jobs and help keep Americans
employed, to the extent permitted by law.

Section 2. That the City of Auburn shall endeavor to purchasing only
products and services that are made or perFormed in the United States of
America whenever and wherever possible, within the limits of the law.
Section 3. That the Mayor is authorized to implement such
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this
legislation.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force
upon passage and signatures hereon.
