Background Summary:
Resolution 4507 authorizes an Agreement with the Washington State Department of Transportation to
appropriate Federal Highway Administration Transportation, Community and System Preservation
(TCSP) funds in the amount of $1,778,400 to continue design of the City’s A Street NW Extension (A/B
Corridor), Project No. C207A. This grant requires no local matching funds.

This project is a 1.47 mile roadway link from 3 Street NW to 14 Street NW and includes design,
permitting, right-of-way acquisition and construction of a new 3-lane and 5-lane roadway aligning A Street
NW in downtown with B Street NW at the northern terminus.
A budget adjustment of $1,778,400 within the 102 arterial street fund/account will be required to accept
these funds.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE A LOCAL AGENCY AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF AUBURN AND WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT
OF TRANSPORTATION RELATING TO PROJECT NO. C207A, A
STREET NW EXTENSION
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn (“City”) is completing design of the roadway

Street NW and 14 Street NW
improvements on ‘A’ Street NW between 3
(“Project”); and
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a Federal Highway Administration
Transportation, Community and System Preservation (TCSP) grant in the amount
of $1,778,400 with no required local funding match for the continued design of the
Project, and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation is a State
agency responsible for the administration of Federal Highway Administration funds
for transportation projects; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to use federal monies to
finance capital improvements to the transportation system, and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation requires a
Local Agency Agreement to utilize these TCSP funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:

Section 1.
The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a
Local Agency Agreement between the City and Washington State Department of
Transportation, in substantial conformity with the agreement attached hereto,
Section 2.
The
marked as Exhibit “A” and incorporated herein by this reference.
Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may
be necessary to carry out the directions of this legislation.
Section 3.
That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force upon
passage and signatures hereon.
