MINUTES
1. CALL TO ORDER 4:00 PM, CONFERENCE ROOM NO. 3
Chairman Gene Cerino called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. in Conference
Room 3, located on the second floor of Auburn City hall, 25 W. Main Street,
Auburn, Washington. Members present: Chairman Gene Cerino, Vice Chair Bill
Peloza, Member Virginia Haugen. Staff present: Mayor Peter Lewis, Chief of
Police Jim Kelly, City Attorney Dan Heid, IS Director Lorrie Rempher, Public
Works Director Dennis Dowdy, Assistant City Attorney Allison Stanhope, M& O
Manager Randy Bailey, Police Secretary/Scribe Kathy Emmert.
II. AGENDA MODIFICATIONS
The Agenda was modified by the addition of Ordinance No. 6247 as an action
item. See IV.A below.
III. CONSENT ITEMS
A. Approval of Minutes of the July 13, 2009 Municipal Services
Committee Meeting
Vice Chair Peloza moved to approve the Minutes of the July 13, 2009
meeting. Member Haugen seconded. Chair Cerino concurred.
MOTION CARRIED: 3-0
IV. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS (Action Items)
A. Ordinance No. 6247 (Dowdy)
An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington,
amending sections 10.36.020, 10.36.175, 10.36.205, 10.36.240,
10.36.255, 10.36.262, 10.36.265, 10.36.268, 10.36.270 and 10.36.350 of
the Auburn City Code, relating to stopping, standing and parking
Following a clarification discussion, Vice Chair Peloza moved to forward
Ordinance No. 6247 to the full Council for acceptance. Member Haugen
seconded. Chair Cerino concurred.

V. INFORMATION / DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Valley Cities Broadband Grant through ARRA (Rempher)
IS Director Rempher presented information related to the on-going
expansion of fiber optics in the valley corridor. A resolution will be
presented at the next Council meeting to allow the City to apply for a
grant.
B. On-line Crime Reports (Kelly/Rempher)
Through the combined efforts of IS, the Mayor's office and the Police
Department citizens of Auburn now have available on-line mapping and
information of selected crimes committed in Auburn. This includes but is
not limited to auto theft and or auto/recovery, assault, Robbery and theft
from vehicles. Access can be gained through the City's website.
C. Matrix
7P - Golf Course Restaurant - discussion postponed until the August 10,
2009 meeting.
10P - Red Light Photo Enforcement - This tool continues to provide
educational and safety opportunities. Additional locations are being
added.
25P - SCORE - The committee was updated on the progress with the
new regional jail to be located in Des Moines.
21- Golf Course Operations - Discussion postponed until the August 10,
2009 meeting.
31- Shopping Cart Update - Updated details of the program were
presented and discussed.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 5:18 p.m.
