Background Summary: The City Council wishes to impiement a City Employee Wellness Program aimed at preventing illnesses and injuries and promoting better morale, reduced absenteeism, and enhanced productivity and performance among City employees. The City Council of the City of Auburn recognizes that employee health is related to lifestyle decisions and many illnesses and injuries can be prevented by positive individual health practices. The City Council of the City of Auburn further recognizes that improvements to employee health, achievable through active workplace health promotion programs and activities, can result in better morale, reduced absenteeism, and enhanced productivity and performance. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY, ASSEMBLED HEREINITH RESOLVES as follows: Section 1. Purpose. That the Mayor of the City of Auburn is hereby authorized to implement a City Employee Wellness Program aimed at preventing illnesses and injuries and promoting better morale, reduced absenteeism, and enhanced productivity and perFormance among City employees. Resolution No. 4510 July 29, 2009 Page 1 Section 2. Implementation. That the Mayor is authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 3. Effective Date.
