CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING
Meeting Minutes of July 14, 2009
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held July 14, 2009, in Resource
Room #2 located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street, Auburn, WA. The
following members were in attendance.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Dick Kammeyer, Chairman; Chuck Booth, Member; Cyril Van Selus, Member.
STAFF PRESENT: Terry Mendoza, Secretary/Civil Service Examiner; Jim Kelly, Police Chief; and
Steven Gross, Assistant City Attorney.
ACTION:
Chairman Kammeyer called the meeting to order at 3:33 p.m.
Approval of the June 9, 2009, Civil Service Commission meeting minutes:
• Minutes were accepted as written. Motion by Booth, Van Selus seconded.
Approval of the July 1, 2009, Entry Level Police Eligibility List:
• Motion by Booth, Van Selus seconded.
Approval to extend the eligibility an additional six months for the following candidates on the Entry Level
Police Eligibility List: J. Youngman (12/8/09); D. Cantu (1/15/10); J. Gaerttner (12/11/09); J. Webley
(12/11/09); S. Vasquez-Pugh (12/11/09); M. Walker (12/8/09); and C. Packard (12/8/09).
• Motion by Booth, Van Selus seconded.
Approval to extend the eligibility an additional six months for the following candidate on the Police
Services Specialist Eligibility List: Christina Henricksen (1/17/10).
• Motion by Booth, Van Selus seconded.
POLICE DEPARTMENT:
The following updates were provided:
• There are three additional police officer positions now frozen with three candidates on hold in the
background process. The police services specialist position remains frozen with one (1)
candidate on the eligibility list.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting adjourned at 3:37 p.m.
