MINUTES
I. CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chair Biil Peloza called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in the
Council Conference Room at Auburn City Hall, located at 25 West Main
Street in Auburn. Vice Chair Peloza and Member Lynn Norman were
present. Chair Nancy Backus was excused. Present during the meeting
were Mayor Peter B. Lewis, City Attorney Daniel B. Heid, Finance Director
Shelley Coleman, Information Services Director Lorrie Rempher, Assistant
Planning Director Kevin Snyder, Risk Manager Rob Roscoe, and Deputy
City Clerk Cathy Richardson.
II. CONSENT ITEMS
A. Approval of Minutes
1. Minutes of the September 21, 2009 Finance Committee
meeting.
Member Norman moved to approve the September 21,
2009. Vice Chair Peloza concurred.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 2-0.
B. Vouchers
1. Claims

Claims check numbers 388977 through 389304 in the
amount of $910,919.75 and dated October 5, 2009.
2. Payroll
F4.9.2
Payroll check numbers 527358 to 527443 in the amount of
$307,819.95 and electronic deposit transmissions in the
amount of $1,182,201.92 for a grand total of $1,490,021.87

for the pay period covering September 17, 2009 to
September 30, 2009.
Committee members reviewed the consent items and briefly
discussed claim vouchers 389052, 389084, 389125 and
389241.
Member Norman moved to approve the vouchers. Vice
Chair Peloza concurred.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 2-0.
III. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS
A. Ordinances
There was no ordinance for Committee consideration.
B. Resolutions
1. Resolution No. 4529

A Resolution o the City Council of the City of Auburn,
Washington, declaring certain items of property as surpfus
and authorizing their disposal
Committee members briefly discussed Resolution No. 4529.
Member Norman moved to recommend approve and
forward Resolution No. 4529 to the full Council. Vice Chair
Peloza concurred.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 2-0.
2. Resolution No. 4532

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn,
Washington, authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute
an extension of the lease of property to King County
Department of Public Health for the King County Paramedic
P rog ram
Risk Manager Roscoe stated that Resolution No. 4532
provides for a two-year extension of the lease with King
County Department of Public Health for property located at

1101 D Street NE and used by the King County Paramedic
unit.
Member Norman moved to approve and forward Resolution
No. 4532 to the full Council. Vice Chair Peloza concurred.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 2-0.
3. Resolution No. 4534

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn,
Washington, stating the City Council's opposition to Initiative
1033 on the November 3, 2009, General Election ballot
Committee members briefly reviewed Resolution No. 4534.
Member Norman moved to approve and forward Resolution
No. 4534 to the full Councit. Vice Chair Peloza concurred.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 2-0.
4. Resolution No. 4536

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn,
Washington, authorizing the Mayor to accept grant funds
from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Assistant Director Snyder reported that the grant authorized
by Resolution No. 4536 provides funds for City oversight of
approximately fifty City and privately owned wetland
mitigation sites.
Member Norman moved to approve and forward Resolution
No. 4536 to the full Council. Vice Chair Peloza concurred.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 2-0.
IV. DISCUSSION ITEMS

Washington, repealing Chapter 18.46, Temporary Uses, of the
Auburn City Code, adopting a new Chapter 18.46A, Temporary

Fee Schedule; all relating to temporary uses
Assistant Director Snyder reviewed Ordinance No. 6268 which
clarifies procedures related to regulations and standards of Auburn
City Code Chapter 18.45, Temporary Uses.

Committee members briefly discussed Ordinance No. 6269.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the
meeting adjourned at 6:41 p.m.
