Backaround Summarv: Pursuant to RCW 35.77.010 the City of Auburn is required to annually prepare and adopt a comprehensive Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for each ensuing six calendar years. The TIP is the detailed programming document for transportation improvements over a six year period. The plan is intended to ensure that the City will have available advance plans as a guide in carrying out a coordinated street construction program. The City Council is required to conduct a public hearing to review the work accomplished under the six- year Transportation Improvement Program, and to adopt a revised and extended plan. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows: Section 1. PURPOSE. The purpose of this Resolution is for the City Council to set a time and date for a public hearing on the 2010-2015 Transportation Improvement Program, to review the work accomplished under the program, and to identify capital transportation system improvement projects, and relevant transportation studies. Resolution No. 4543 November 10, 2009 Page 1 Section 2. NOTICE OF HEARING. The Council hereby directs that a notice specifying the time and place of the public hearing shall be published one time in a newspaper of general circulation and the notice shall also be posted in three public places. Such public notice shall precede the public hearing by at least 10 days. Section 3. DATE OF HEARING. Pursuant to the requirements of State law, a public hearing on said 2010-2015 Transportation Improvement Program will be held on the 7t" day of December, 2009, at 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as reasonably possible, in the Council Chambers of the Auburn City Hall at 25 West Main Street in Auburn, Washington, before the City Council. All persons interested in said 2010-2015 Transportation improvement Program may attend and testify at said hearing. Section 4. AUTHORITY. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 5. EFFECTIVE DATE.
