CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING
Meeting Minutes of September 8, 2009
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held September 8, 2009, in
Resource Room #2 located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street, Auburn, WA.
The following members were in attendance.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Dick Kammeyer, Chairman; Chuck Booth, Member.
STAFF PRESENT: Terry Mendoza, Secretary/Civil Service Examiner; Bob Lee, Acting Police Chief; and
Steven Gross, Assistant City Attorney.
ACTION:
Chairman Kammeyer called the meeting to order at 3:34 p.m.
Approval of the July 14, 2009, Civil Service Commission meeting minutes:
• Minutes were accepted as written. Motion by Booth, Chairman Kammeyer seconded.
Steven Gross discussed the need to update information for Chapter 2.57 of the Auburn City Code, Civil
Service System for Police and Fire Departments. Updates to include: removal of the Fire Authority as
they are no longer under the City and the removal of language regarding the Deputy Police Chief
position as it has been removed from Civil Service for some time now. These code updates will reflect
what we are already doing and what has been in effect under applicable bargaining agreements. The
Commission concurs with the recommended changes. The updates will go through two Council
committees and the Council for final approval.
• Motion by Booth, Chairman Kammeyer seconded.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting adjourned at 3:40 p.m.
