HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-18-2009 White River Valley Historical Society Board Meeting Minutes February 18, 2009, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Board Members Present: Richard Artura, Ronnie Beyersdorf, Tom Campbell, Mike Gerber, Doug Hedger, Julie Herren, Gerry Honeysett, Warren Kinggeorge, Michelle Marshman, Lisa Scarff, Jennifer Traufler, Judi Roland Board Members Excused: Pat Bailey, Gator Chamberlain, Clarissa Ruston, Jan Cavanaugh Staff Present: Patricia Cosgrove, Kristen Bruhahn, Alison Tisue, Erin McEntire Guests: Bob Wuotila, Parks Planning/Development Manager 1. Call to Order and Approval of Minutes A. President Beyersdorf called the meeting to order and asked for the approval of the minutes. MOTION CARRIED 11. Chair Report A. Free Wednesdays - Patricia discussed the museum Free Wednesday program and requested updates to last year's list of sponsors. Free Wednesdays are sponsored by individuals for 150 per Wednesday or 500 per month. Kristen will provide information packets that can be sent directly to potential sponsors. B. Museum Finance Overview - Patricia Cosgrove gave an overview of Museum Finances and presented charts depicting annual funding broken down by sources of revenue: city and society, Museum Board, and other Peoples money (OPM), and a break down of museum revenue sources for 2008 (Earned Revenue, Tours, Gift Shop Free Wednesdays, Annual Fund Drive, Halloween Ball, Operating grants and the city of Auburn). III. Treasury and Committee Report A. Treasurer Doug Hedger gave the financial report for the month of December 2008/Year end and January and February Financials. The report was approved. MOTION CARRIED IV. Staff Report A. 2009 City Budget - Patricia Cosgrove informed the board that the City of Auburn will be cutting 10% from the 2009 Budget B. Flooding Issues - Patricia Cosgrove and Mike Gerber lead a conversation about potential flooding. This flooding, is due to the fact that the Howard Hanson Dam may require the release of more water than usual during extreme rain events. As a result of this increased water release, parts of Auburn are at a higher risk of flooding. At risk is the Mary Olsen farm. The farm has been added to the city plans for sand bagging.
