Background Summary: The City of Auburn Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) tasks the City with providing emergency shelter to citizens in times of disaster. The City currently has limited capacity to provide such sheltering. Homeland Security grant funds made available through King County Office of Emergency Management will allow the City to purchase a Disaster Emergency Response Trailer (DERT) with supplies and equipment to provide shelter to 100 people. Purpose. The City Council of the City of Auburn hereby accepts a grant from the King County Office of Emergency Management in the amount of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) to fund a disaster emergency response trailer. Section 2. Implementation. The Mayor of the City of Auburn is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this resolution.
