Background Summary:
The City of Auburn operates an active Community Emergency Response Team CERT} program. Federal
Citizen Corps Program ~CCP}funding has become available to provide supplies and equipment to CERT
programs throughout King County. The City of Auburn, through agrant-funded temporary staff position, will act as the lead agency for this project, ensuring equitable distribution of
equipment to programs
throughout the County, including our own program.

A RESOLUTION GF THE CITY COUNCIL GF THE CITY GF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE
OF A GRANT FROM THE KING COUNTY OFFICE OF
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF SIX
THGUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY THREE DGLLARS AND
EIGHTY CENTS x$6853.80} TG PROVIDE EQUIPMENT TG KING
COUNTY COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM ~CERT}
PROGRAMS
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn is a participating member of the White
RiverValley Citizen Corps Council; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Homeland Security has designated funds
to assist Citizen Corps Councils in providing programs and has provided King
County with those funds to distribute; and
WHEREAS, Community Emergency Response Teams fall under the
authorized activities of Citizen Corps Council programs; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTGN, DG GRDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Purpose. The City Council of the City of Auburn hereby
accepts a grant from the King County Office of Emergency Management in the
amount of Six Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty Three Dollars and Eight Cents
$6853.80} to fund King County Community Emergency Response Team ~CERT}
equipment acquisition and distribution.
Section Implementation. The Mayor of the City of Auburn is hereby
authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to
carry out the directions of this resolution.

Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
upon passage and signatures hereon.
