MOTION CARRIED
11. Chair Report
A. Board members reviewed some of the steps taken to complete a restoration project at the
Mary Olson Farm. The sample project reviewed was refinishing the doors in the farmhouse. BOLA
Architecture + Planning created an inventory of the doors and work plan for their restoration. They also
provided tear sheets for all new, antique style door hardware to replace the broken and missing existent
hardware. Cosgrove noted that interviews are on-going for a carpenter to replace RSE Construction.
B. Vice President Beyersdorf reviewed the calendar or August and September.
III. Treasury and Committee Report
A. Treasurer Hedger reviewed the financial statements through July. Missing is income from the
Annual Fund Drive which was mailed in August, much later than normal. The Fund Raising Committee
planned this to separate this fund raising effort from that of the Capital Campaign. Judi Roland made a
motion to accept the Treasurer's report, which was seconded by Mike Gerber. MOTION CARRIED
B. Capital Campaign Committee Chair Roland reported that at this time fund raising efforts will
primarily rely upon grants, with about $190,000 to go of the $1,640,000 needed. She is planning to meet
King County Councilman Pete Von Reichbauer and ask for $50,000 sometime next month.
V. Staff Report
A. Patricia Cosgrove reported that Curator of Collections Angela Stalgis was let go (rationale
described during meeting) and that a quick hire of Alison Tissue was made. Alison has her Masters
degree from the UW in Museum Administration and has worked at this museum as an intern for four
months.
B. The board discussed the possibility that the farm will not be ready to open by next summer as
planned. Parking and restrooms are needed for opening, and the design of each has been slow, and the
north meadow has still not formally been transferred from King County to the City of Auburn ownership.
VI. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 p.m.
