Call To Order, Approval of Minutes Gordy Nishimoto The minutes were reviewed and a motion was make to approve them. II. Chair Report Gordy Nishimoto A. Appletini Tuesday Wrap-Up The Appletini event was rescheduled to October 2, 2007 due to weather concerns and attendance confirmations information. B. Board Member Contributions Gordy reported that we 12 out of 17 board members have pledged for a total of around $9000. C. Gordy reported that three board members have resigned from the board Jean Farrington due to an increasingly busy office schedule, Ken Calvert and Russ Welch due to illness in his family. III. Treasury and Committee Reports A. Finance Committee Doug Hedger Doug said that last year were $3500 down at this time over what we are this year. We need to get moving on the harvest ball with ticket sales. We are farther behind in September than last year for the Harvest Ball. Some of the grants have come in and these operating grants are carrying the budget. The treasurers was approved. B. Mary Olson Farm Campaign, Ronnie Beyersdorf, Judi Roland We have contracted with Daryl Thompson to help with Appletini Tuesday. Tara reported that the first group of children will be going out to the Mary Olson Farm on October 9, 2007. The students are from Chinook and will be 1St and 2nd grade students. In November we will begin piloting field trip curriculum with 6t" and 7t" grade students. This is the year of testing, when we work only with classes from three schools. During school year 2008-9 we hope to schedule tours from many more classes, and try to become part of the Auburn School District's routine curriculum. There was lots of discussion about trying to get the City of Auburn to support getting personnel for the Mary Olson Farm. It is OK if board members make input to the mayor and city council regarding more human resources for the farm and administration. C. PR Committee Terry Davis After 15 years trying we finally got the new sign is on Auburn Way South! Using capital campaign funds, we have hired Cindy Tangen a public relations specialist for 16 hours a month. She is helping to provide more frequent and higher quality press releases for each program offering at the museum. Additionally, she individually calls reporters to invite their participatation. D. Harvest Costume Ball, Judi Roland, Doug Hedger Judi said we are meeting every Tuesday morning at 10am until the harvest ball takes place. We need to sell tickets and get people there. Jan reviewed the auction items being donated. IV. Staff Report A. Upcoming Exhibit Patricia Cosgrove The opening for Courage Untold, is Sat Oct 6 from noon to 4pm, with a panel discussion on Oct. 19, 6:30 to 8pm. Patricia reported on the Military Intelligence Service and the Japanese Americans who served in that capacity during WW 2. Meeting adjoured 2.40pm, Ronnie Beyersdorf, Secretary
