BOARD MINUTES
OCTOBER 18, 2006
Board Members Present: Pat Bailey, Ron Beyersdorf, Jan Cavanaugh, Nancy Colson, Terry
Davis, Jean Farrington, Mike Gerber, Doug Hedger, Warren Kinggeorge, Michelle Marshman,
Larry Miller, Janice Nelson, Gordy Nishimoto, Judi Roland, JB Rupert
Board Members Absent: Dan Harris
Board Members Excused: Mike Harbin Jr. Mae Yamada.
Staff Members Present: Patricia Cosgrove, Kristen Bruhahn
Call to Order & Approval of Minutes: President Larry called the meeting to order at 1:20.
He asked for additions or corrections to the minutes from the last meeting. The minutes were
corrected to the proper date. Motion passed as corrected.
Chair Reports: President Larry announced the nominating committee. Members are Warren
Kinggeorge, Mike Gerber & Janice Nelson. He thanked them for serving. President Larry
announced that Judi Roland & JB Rupert visited with Council member Peter von Reichbauer to
petition for an appropriation of $80,000 for the farm.
Treasury & Committee Reports: Doug Hedger gave the Treasurers report. He said we are
doing great and that with the Harvest Ball we should be in great shape. He said that our
investment report would be out next month.
Harvest Ball: There are now 11 table sponsors, 3 gold and 6 silver. We are expecting about
230 people, which is down from last year. There will be 15 cakes to auction off. It was
suggested that pledge cards be put at each table to benefit the museum & farm. Make the
farm the fund an item.
Staff Report: Patricia noted that she had 5 responses for the Curator of Collections position,
all with masters in that area. She selected 2 to return for the final interview and give a test.
Selected for the position was Angela Stalgis. She graduated form CWU and is young and very
personable.
Olson Farm Update: The floor inside the barn will be done this week, and then the roadside
fencing will be done. Larry Dacca will give us an estimate on the cost of planting and seeding
the meadow. An Eagle Scout, Ben Holtz is clearing the area near the creek and will replant
with proper vegetation.
Upcoming Events: Harvest Ball October 21, Nov 11 is Family Fun Day with poster making.
Thursday Nov 16 Comcast one on one will be taping with Michelle Marshman and her exhibit.
It will be broadcast 2 weeks later. Green River Foundation Scholarship banquet is Nov 2nd
Next Board Meeting: November 15th at 1:30.
