I now see that you have another moratorium resolution floating around with a public hearing this evening, which I was not aware of and which does have a direct impact on our clienYs property. Unfortunately, I wiil be out of town this evening and unable to attend. Suffice it to say, it is our clienYs position that the City is overreaching in its zeaL There may be a need to study what new land uses occur in the future, but a prohibition on existing businesses, which would preclude them from modernizing, growing to meet new demand or otherwise investing in existing properties is irresponsible and goes far beyond the City's alleged needs. The proposed moratorium for the SE Corridor should be amended to allow existing businesses to continue under the rules in place until those rules are changed through a legitimate planning process. The notion there is an immediate, "emergency" need to undermine existing business investment in the property and improvements in the SE Corridor is not well-founded and should be rejected. Please place this correspondence in the record of this matter and place the undersigned on the mailing list for all information related to the City's industrial moratoria.
