HomeMy WebLinkAbout3701 ORDINANCE N0. 3 7 0 1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, REPEALING AUBURN CODIFIED CITY ORDINANCES 13.20.480 AND 13.20.520, RELATING TO THE MONTHLY RATES AND CHARGES FOR SEWAGE DISPOSAL SERVICES AND CREATING A NEW AUBURN CODIFIED CITY ORDINANCE 13.20.480 AND 13.20.520 THEREOF. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Auburn Codified City Ordinances 13.20.480 and 13.20.520 are . hereby repealed in their entirety. Section 2. There is'hereby created a new Auburn Codified City Ordinance 13.20.480 relating to sewage disposal service charge - residential „ occupancies, which shall read as follows:' . . ~ • "Monthly rates. Effective on tFie Jan`uary_10; 1982.bil.ling'rates and charges for sewage disposal.services shall be as'•follows: (A) Residences: Eight dollars and ninety=five cents per month, for each single family residence within.the corporate c.ity limits and ten dollars and ninety-five cents per month for eacfi single family resi- •dence outside the corporate city limits. (B) Non-single family residential: All,users other than single family - residential shall pay eight dollars and ninety-five cents per month for the first 900 cubic feet and one dollar per every 100 cutiic feet thereafter. - • Non-single family residential users outside the corporate city limits shall pay ten dollars and riinety=five cents per month for the first 900 cubic feet and one dollar and twenty-two cents per every 100 cubic feef thereafter. . (C) Mun.icipality of Metro Sewer' Charges: These charges are included in the monthly rates stated above for residential and non-single family residential rates. Any Metro cost•increases charged to the City of Auburn will be passed along to Auburn customers." Section 3. There is hereby created a'new Auburn Codified City Ordinance 13.20.520, relating to sewage disposal service charge - service without city water, which shall read as follows: "Effective on the January 10, 1982 billing the monthly charge rates and charges for sewage disposal services shall be as follows: Ordinance No. 3701 Page One . 11-3=81 • , (A) In the event that water obtained from oth'er sources than purchased from the city is either discharged.or drained into the sewer system, single-family dwellings and multiple dwelling units shall be"charged by one of two following methods: 1. Eight dollars and ninety-five cents per dwelling unit or dwelling space occupied or unoccupied within the corporate city l.imits and ten dollars and ninety-five cents per month for each , . single famil"y residence outside the corporate city limits. 2. The property owner of such private water system, upon explana- , tion to.tfie d.irector of public works, may request a water meter to be installed into such private water system at no cost to •.the property owner. The method of billing*shall be in compliance with subsection B of Section 13.20.480. (B) 'Other than sing.le=family and multiple dwellings, the director of public works shall install a water meter into such private water system at no cost to property owners and the method of billing shall be in compliance with Section 13.20.480 (B); or where special con- ditions exist in which said alternatives are considered not prac- . . tical, the director of public works shall impose a fixed rate of charge to such customer subject to the approval,of the city council." Section 4.
