The trees on West Main chosen as a significant tree (actually two significant trees) were
recognized at a December Council meeting. Mayor Lewis made the presentation and
read the proclamation, and owner Mrs. Dollinger was there as well as Mr. Elliott and Mr.

B. Installation of Trees at Second and K Streets
Mr. Miller explained that the trees are available for the Second and K Streets plantings.
Planting is planned for some time near the first of February. It was suggested that we
solicit some scout participation; and the Board members asked that they be notified so
those who were available could attend.
VI. Board Recommendations/Input
Mr. Landrud explained that he is the President this year of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the
International Society of Arboriculture (PNW-ISA). This organization is internationally recognized
for promoting certified arborists and for providing good information to people related to tree
care. He also said that his position is provided with a number of grant opportunities and that
he will share this information with the Board.
VII. Department Report
Mr. Hadley reported that we had some pruning going on around town, including Dykstra Park
and some removals at Jornada. They are working on hazardous trees and winter clean-up.
