3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
AUBURN CODIFIED CITY ORDINANCE 10,36.040 (CHAPTER APPLICATION) AND
4 AUBURN CODIFIED CITY ORDINANCE 10.40.020 (TWO-HOUR PARKING LIMIT), BY
GRANTING TO THE AUBURN POLICE CHIEF SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF ?HE MAYOR
g THE AUTHORITY TO DECLARE PARKING ENFORCEMENT MORATORIUMS.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF'THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

- Section 1. Auburn Codified City Ordinance 10.36.040 is hereby amended to

"Chapter application.
10 Tfie provisions of this chapter prohibiting the standing or parking of

vehicles shall apply at all times or at those times specified in this
12
chapter or as indicated on official signs except when it is necessary
13
to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in
' 14
compliance with the directions of a police officer or official
15
16 'traffic-control devicei provided, however, the Auburn Police Chief is
".herewith granted subject to the approval of the Mayor authority to .

18 declare parking moratoriums where he finds such moratoriums in the
19 best interest of the citizen's of the City of Auburn, Washin t9 on•"
20 . Section 2. Auburn Codified City Ordinance 10.40.020 is hereby amended,to
21. read as f.ollows:
22 "Two-hour parking limit.
23 All municipal off-street parking facilities operated by the City are
24 established as two-hour nonmetered parking zones, which two-hour
25
parking limitation shall exist from nine a.m. to six p.m. daily,
26 excluding Sundays and holidays_ provided, however, the Auburn Police
27 Chief is herewith granted subject to the approval of the Mayor
28 authority to declare parking moratoriums where he finds such mora-
29 'toriums•in tfiej, best interest:of the citizens of the City of Auburn,
30 Washington.". .

Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administra-

tive procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this
