City Council grant permission to enter into Amendment #3 to Consultant Agreement No. AG-C-363 with
Carollo Engineers for professional services related to hydraulic modeling and associated professional
services.
Background Summary:
Consultant Agreement No. AG-C-363 is for work related to hydraulic modeling and associated
professional services to support water system supply analysis; capital improvement program development
and implementation; system devetopment, expansion, rehabilitation and replacement; system operations;
fire protection systems; water quality evaluation; vulnerability assessment; periodic model updates and
hydraulic model program conversion. This contract is an annual agreement and work is assigned by
individual task assignments.
The purpose of Amendment No. 3 is to increase the total agreement amount. The current total
agreement amount is $60,000. Amendment No. 3 will increase the agreement amount by $100,000 to a
total of $160,000. Previous work assignments have reduced the available amount in the annual
agreement to $37,374. Staff is currently working on an analysis at Well 6, to determine why the pump
and column assembly failed, which is expected to cost approximately $73,000. The remainder of the
proposed amendment increase would be to continue general engineering support in 2010.
The funding source for this amendment is the 2010 Professional Services budget of the Water Fund
where sufficient funds are available to support this amendment. A budget adjustment is not required.
