CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING
Meeting Minutes of February 9, 2010
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held February 9, 2010, in
Resource Room #2 located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street, Auburn, WA.
The following members were in attendance.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Dick Kammeyer and Member Gene Cerino.
STAFF PRESENT: Police Chief Jim Kelly, Assistant City Attorney Steven Gross, and Civil Service
Secretary Terry Mendoza.
ACTION:
Chairman Kammeyer called the meeting to order at 3:33 p.m.
Approval of the January 12, 2010, Civil Service Commission meeting minutes:
• Minutes were accepted as written. Motion by Member Cerino, Chairman Kammeyer seconded.
Due to the recent position reallocations within the Police Department it was requested that the
Commission approve amending Civil Service Rule 22.05, job description for the position of
Evidence/Identification Technician to reflect corrected information:
• Member Cerino moved to amend Rule 22.05, Chairman Kammeyer seconded. Motion passed.
UPDATES:
Terry Mendoza provided updated information on the upcoming Civil Service Promotional Exam for the
position of Police Commander.
Police Chief Jim Kelly advised that the draft Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) reflecting the staff
changes effective on January 16, 2010, has been finalized and signed by the Police Guild.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting adjourned at 3:42 p.m.
