held at 8.00 P.M. in the Council Chambers at the City Hall.
The meetinn was called to order by Mavor Denise.
Councilmen Present: Aabv, Petersen, Kammever, Stalcler,
Fitzsimmons, Towner, Prescatt

(-ouncilman Stalder stated that the Street Cammittee looked
into the renuest of Erma J. Calkins about the black berry vines
on H St. N.F. This request has been taken care of.

Councilman Kammever stated that a while back, the City of
Alaona renuested purchasina water from the City of Auburn. The
City of Alqona has the necessary bondage to replace some water
lines, and would now like to enter into a contract with the City
of Auourn to Qurchase water.
Councilman Kammeyer would like the Mayor to appoint the
Water Committee, Water Supt., Mayor, and Citv Clerk to enter into
an aa,reement with the Citv of alaona on the sale of water, and
this committee havP power ta act upon the aqreement.

The City Enqin?er stated that the sidAwalks are qettinq in
bad shaqe aqain, and that the Council should study this matter,
Notices are SPnt out to qropertv owners to repair their side-
walks. For the Ci ty to hira a contractor to came in and fix
these sidewalks will cost monev, and this monPy will have to came
from some place. There are about a thousand danqerous places
in town that nPed fixinn. Some property owners will repair their
sidwwalks and some won't.
The Mavor anqointed the Street Committee and Fnaineer ta
look into this and rPnort hack at thP next reqular Council
meetina.

rPhuestinn that the Citv Clerk be authorized ta call for bids
on a uqed back hoe. '
Councilman Kammever reauPsted that the Water Committee bP
authorized to have a m?etinq with the Water Cammittee and Water
Suot. and CPmPtery Suot. ta see if there would bP any merrit for
a combinPd hoP for both departments.

tax, this is standard in all towns.

Orbom be niven permission to hold these matches in the C:itv of
Auburn, subject to the 5~ tax, and thP Fire Ghief be instructed
to inspect the buildina acaainst fire, and see fit to discantinue
thPSe matchPS because of disorderly canduct.

The City Clerk read an aQreement from the Statewide City
Fmployees Retirement Sustem which the Gitv should enter with them.
This allows for the coordination of the RAtirement plan and
social s?cbrity.
It was moved bv Petersen and 2nd by Kammeyer that the Mayor
and Gity rlPrk be authorized to sian this aqreement.

A Motwon needed to adopt the matching discount plan in
connection with this system.
Councilman Kammever requested this be held till next
Council meetina so further studv can be given on the percentaqe
the Citv wili match.
Councilman Towner stated that an ordinance was repealed
concernina the amusement tax. He would li~e somethinq done about
this.
It was moved bv Kammever and 2nd by Prescott that the Mayor
apnoint a committee to work with the City Attorney and come uq
with some kind of action.

Mr. Bud Thomas stated that this amusement tax applies with
all civic orqanizatians except schoo(s, unlPSS thev employ out-
side tailent. Mr. Thomas explained that it would cost more to
collect this tax than its worth.

foilowinq ciaims aqainst the City, ai) havinq previously bPen
passed and sianed bv the Finance C;ommittee, be approved and the
Citv Clerk be authorized to draw up warrants in payment.
