City Council grant permission to enter into Consultant Agreement No. AG -C-382 with Parametrix, Inc. for
engineering services on Project No. CP0914 — F St SE and 4th St SE Traffic Signal Project.
Background Summary:
Theur ose of the project is to construct a new traffic signal at the intersection of F Street SE and 4th
p p
Street SE. Accident history, traffic volumes and pedestrian usage warrant the conversion of this
intersection from a 4 -way stop to a traffic signal. The signal will also provide essential intersection control
during the closure of M Street SE for the M Street SE Grade Separation Project.
City staff has selected Parametrix Inc. to prepare the signal design contract documents and the
anticipated cost for the consultant support is $35,000.
The estimated total cost for this project is $395,700, which is entirely funded by a Federal Highway Safety
Improvement Grant.
