Background Summary:
Pierce Transit authorizes City Councils from jurisdictions within the Pierce Transit district boundaries to
vote for nominated elected officials to serve on the Pierce Transit Board of Commissioners. There are six
nominees to fill the at -large position. Resolution No. 4588 expresses the Council's support and
authorizes the Mayor -to cast the City's vote for Rob Cerqui, Councilmember from the City of Fife, to serve
on the Board of Commissioners for Pierce Transit for a three year term.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO CAST THE CITY OF AUBURN
VOTE FOR ROB CERQUI OF THE CITY OF FIFE
TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS FOR PIERCE TRANSIT FOR A
THREE YEAR TERM COMMENCING MAY 1, 2010,
AND EXPIRING APRIL 30, 2013
WHEREAS, Pierce Transit authorizes city councils from jurisdictions
falling within the Pierce Transit district boundaries to vote for nominated
individuals to serve on the Pierce Transit Board of Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent and interest of the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Auburn to support the nomination of Rob Cerqui, of the City of Fife, to
serve on said board of commissioners; and
WHEREAS, in order to authorize the Mayor to cast the vote, it is
appropriate that this resolution be enacted by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to cast a vote on behalf
of the City of Auburn for Rob Cerqui to serve on the Board of Commissioners for
Pierce Transit for a three year term commencing May 1, 2010, through April 30,
2013.
Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to implement such
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this
legislation.

Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force
upon passage and signatures hereon.
