MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, April 13th, 2010
2:00 PM
Members Present: Tom Hikida, Ken Bradford, Greg Dobbs, Fred Helser and Warren Olson
Staff Present: Craig Hudson & Lois Almeda
A. Call to Order - Chairperson Ken Bradford
B. Review of February 9th, 2010 Minutes. Motion by Warren Olson and second by Greg Dobbs to accept
February 9", 2009 Minutes.
C. Old Business:
Easter Sunrise Service - Pastor John Olson officiated. Once again the service was well attended.
Estimate of 130 attendees this year.
D. New Business:
Concrete caps -[n the process of replacing niche wall caps. We are doing 20 or so a year, as budget
allows, until they are all replaced.
Water feature - Due to be completed within a couple of days. Cemetery staff will complete the planting.
Rock wall - ForestWalk project (rockwall, planting and sign) is nearing completion.
PaintinQ - Office will be painted in the same tones as the Mausoleum and lower Shop, hopefully, to be
completed by Memorial Day.
Fertilization - grounds have been fertilized and sprayed for weeds.
L& I- L& I was out to inspect our safe work practices regarding preparation of a grave for burial.
Concern was the issue of staff being in the outer burial container and experiencing a cave-in of the grave.
Mt. View was given an OK to proceed with business as usual.
Memorial Day Preparations - Scout groups have been in contact as to their support of Memorial Day
plans. Staff will assist with gate coverage.
Seasonals - We have two seasonal employees for seven months. Each has been with [he cemetery in
previous years.
E. Reports:
Budget update - February and March of 2010 showed increased revenues. February had revenue of
approximately $62,900 with 18 placements. March's revenue was $75,800 with 16 placemen[s. Activity
has increased recently. There have been 13 placements so far in April.
F. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 2:40 PM.
