Minutes

City Hall Annex 4:00 pm
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Joanne Macnab at 4:07 pm. Joanne
introduced herself as the newly appointed Chair for the AIFM Advisory Board.
Advisory Board Members present: Trudy Ginther, Ronnie Roberts, Margaret
Greenslit, Jeff Viney, Paula Wiech, Joanne Macnab. City Staff: Market Manager
Lillie Brinker, Parks Secretary Julie Mehl, Councilman Bill Peloza.
It Minutes
The minutes of the February meeting were approved as distributed.
III. Market Manager Report
Ms. Brinker reported that we are 90% prepared for the market opening day
scheduled for June 13, 2010. There will be two bands, a high school chef
program and Wicks staff 26 Vendors have signed up (6 certified organic), and 5
flower vendors. Vendor Orientation will be held April 28 from 11 am - 1 pm in
Council Chambers.
Riverside High School students are working on buttons and bumper stickers and
will advertise throughout the entire school district. School reader boards
throughout Auburn will be used for advertising at the end of May.
Volunteer orientation date is to be determined. Volunteer leader will be Lillie
Brinker.
Postcards will be printed by April 10. Students are currently working on the
poster contest for next year. Councilman Peloza would like the Arts Commission
involved in final selection of poster contest winner.
IV. Correspondence/Public Input
The input from multiple customers has been that they enjoy the music at the
market, and folks are raving about the pasta vendor and want to make sure they
will be there this year.
V. Old Business
A. KCD Grant
$31,500 grant was awarded by King County for the second consecutive year.
Ms. Brinker passed around a copy of the grant.
B. Tasks/Assignments with Market Manager
Lillie Brinker handed out a list of tasks and asked if members could volunteer
to assist in what interests them. Mr. Roberts suggested we place a flyer in
utility bills to promote market. Ms. Wiech will get information to go into
Lakeland Newsletter. Councilmember Peloza suggested we rum an ad in
`Coffee News'. He also suggested marketing via the City of Auburn
Neighborhood HOA newsletter.
VI. New Business
Ms. Brinker commented that we hope to get a wireless sound system for the
north side of the market if we get awarded the promotional grant.
VII. Board Recommendations/Input
Vendors on south side of market felt they were not making enough money. It was
decided to move food vendors from clock area towards the restaurant.
VIII. Adjournment
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:44.
