Ordinance No. 6306 updates City Code Section 2.72.180 asfollows:
2.72.180 Interments per individual grave.
The interment of two bodies in one grave;will not be allowed in areas designated forsingle depth burials;

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING SECTION 2.72.180 OF .
' THE AUBURN CITY CODE RELATING TO INTERMENTS PER
INDIVIDUAL GRAVE
WHEREAS, in connection with the municipal functions and operations of
the City of Aubum, the City provides various services including cemetery grave
and niche spaces; and WHEREAS, the Cemetery Board and staff recommend that #he rules and
regulations for interments per individual grave be amended to reflect a.more
streamlined business practice.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, 'DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Amendment to Citv Code. That Section 2.72.180 of
the Auburn City Code be and t_he same hereby is amended to read as follows:
Section 2.72:180 INTERMENTS PER INDIVIDUAL GRAVE
The interment of two bodies in one grave will not be allowed in areas
designated for single depth burials; only Wj<~-three cremated remains or

allowed: The interment of two bodies in one grave allowed only in
designated areas. Only cremated remains may be buried in Pioneer
Cemetery. No interment other than that of a human being will be
~ permitted. (Ord. 4485 § 6, 1991; 1957 code § 10.02.150J
Section 2. lmplerrmentation. The Mayor is hereby authorized to
, implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry ouf the .
directions of this legislation.
Section 3. Severabilitv. The provisions of- this ordinance are
declared to be separate and.severable. The 'invalidity of any clause, sentence,

paragraph, subdivision, section or portion of this ordinance, orthe invalidity of the
application thereof #o any person or circumstance shall not affect the validify of
the remainder of this ordinance, or the validity of its application to other persons
or circumstances.
Section 4. Effective date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be
in force five days from and . after its passage, approval and publication as
