City Council to approve Amendments to the Annual On -Call Agreement AG -C-356 with Terracon
Consultants, Inc. for Geotechnical Services for 2010.
Background Summary:
The annual on-call agreements are used to supplement the City's staff resources or to perform
specialized services not available within the City. Having these resources available provides the City with
the flexibility to complete small tasks or projects in an efficient and timely manner as they are needed
throughout the year.
In February, 2009 the City entered into an annual on-call agreement with Terracon Consultants, Inc. for
Geotechnical Services in the total amount of $30,000. This agreement was amended in December, 2009
to extend it through December 31, 2010. At this time, the City has utilized Terracon to complete tasks for
a variety of projects including the Mountain View Drive Guardrail Replacement Project, the 2009 AC
Water Main Replacement Project and the Emergency Flood Levee Design, and is nearing the maximum
limit of $30,000 in the original contract. Therefore, it is anticipated that an amendment to incorporate
additional monies in the amount of $25,000 for 2010 will be needed. The total Agreement "Not to
Exceed" amount after the amendment will be $55,000.
