CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING
Meeting Minutes of June 8, 2010
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held June 8, 2010, in Resource
Room #2 located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street, Auburn, WA. The
following members were in attendance.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Dick Kammeyer, Member Cyril Van Selus and Member Gene Cerino.
STAFF PRESENT: Police Chiefi Jim Kelly, Assistant City Attorney Steven Gross, and Civil Service
Secretary Terry Mendoza.
ACTION:
Chairman Kammeyer called the meeting to orderat 3:33 p.m.
Approval of the May 11, 2010, Civil Service Commission meeting minutes:
• Minutes were accepted as written. Motion by Member Van Selus; Chairman Kammeyer
seconded.
Approval of the June 3, 2010, Lateral Police Officer Eligibility list:
• Eligi6ility list approved. Motion by Member Cerino; Member Van Selus seconded.
Approval to accept the proposed amendment to CSC Rule 4.04:
o Request approved. Motion by Member Cerino; Member Van Selus seconded.
Approval to accept amendment to Rule 22, Specification 22.06 Police Services Specialist Supervisor job
description:
o Request approved. Motion by Member Van Selus; Member Cerino seconded.
Approval to move forvvard with the recruitment for Entry Level Police Officer:
e Request approved. Motion by Member Van Selus; Member Cerino seconded.
UPDATES:
o Ch'ief Kelly provided an update on upcoming changes in Police Department staff due to
retirement.
• An update was provided on the recruitment process for Lateral Police Officer.
ADJOURNMENT:,
There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting adjourned at 3:46 p.m.
