of a disaster. COAD has created a database of agency contacts which catalogs
available services, including case management availability to assist families figure out
theic needs and how to get services % items they need to recover from a disaster. They
hope to never have to be active but their goal is to plan for a disaster.
COAD has appreciated the supporf from having a joint member from the Human
Services Committee. Currently.there is not a joint member;serving on both committees
and COAD is seeking someone to step up:
Mayor Lewis discussed in the event. of an emergency the Human Services Committee
and the City may need to have emergency meetings to decide how human services
:funds would get allocated to the community: The goal would focus on keeping our
communiiy and individuals healthy.
Would sewer lines be affected for peop/e, living on the hills if flooding occurs?
In 2006 the flooding was five times greater potential that it is today. Jn efforts to prevent
issues with sewer lines backing sewer valves for residents on the hill sides would' be
opened, allowing waste to flow directly into the river. There is currently a one in thirty
three chance for flooding. The Howard Hanson Dam is currently at half capacify, wh_ich
means it would need to rain for an extended period. The flooding. season is November
1 St to March 1 S`
