Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 5:35 pm by Chairman Mike Hassen. Those members present in addition to Mr. Hassen were John Webley, Greg Dobbs and Laura Higdon. Richard Artura and Julie Parascondola were not in attendance. Department staff members present were Parks, Arts and Recreation Director Daryl Faber and Parks Secretary Julie Mehl. II. Minutes The minutes of the March meeting were approved as distributed. III. Committee Member Input IV. Correspondence/Public Input V. Old Business A. Director Faber relayed there will be two community meetings in late May which Green River Community College will be planning for the land transfer. We are hoping to use the $50,000 drainage grant for the new field which Little League will be able to utilize. We also hope to build a playground shelter and a small synthetic soccer field. We will have more information after the neighborhood meetings. B. Mr. Faber stated we have been acquiring playground equipment for the Barrier Free Playground and have received over $300,000 in donations. The ground breaking ceremony was held Monday, April 5`h and there was a very nice turnout. Grading has begun on the project and boulders should arrive soon. C. Director Faber shared that the Gymnasium/Activity Center project has gone out to bid and 20 contractors have picked up bid packets. The Boys & Girls Club is not interested in participating in the project. VI. New Business AUBURN * MOfZL THAV YOU 1MAGINL-D VII. Department Report A. Director Faber commented that an ofFer has been made on the old United Rentals property. The Library could be housed there temporarily while they complete their expansion. The agreement could be finalized by the third week in April. B. Mr. Faber informed the board there will be a tree planting / Arbor Day celebration on April 14, at 10:00 am at Les Gove Park. The Garden Club has donated a Fragrant Snowbell for this year's tree planting. VIII.
