Parks & Recreation Administration Building
I.Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 2:05 pm by Board Chair Len Elliott. Those Board members
attending in addition to Mr. Elliott were Karen Wright and Arnie Galli. There is no quorum.
Also present at the meeting were staff members Parks Maintenance Manager Mike Miller, Parks
Horticulturist Kirk Hadley, Parks Secretary Julie Mehl and Practicum Student Antonio McLemore.
II.Minutes
The minutes of the June meeting were not approved as there is no quorum.
III.Correspondence/Public Input
IV. Old Business
A.Significant Tree Nomination - Len Elliott agreed the Monkey Puzzle Tree located on E.
Main Street should be nominated. Mr. Elliott also asked Mike Miller to continue

efforts in contacting the owner of tree on 2 & R St SE.
B.Mike Miller suggested planting trees on Park Avenue in January as it is the best time
of year to plant.

C. Gymnasium is on schedule, the contractors waited until after KidsDay and the 4 of
July events for demolition on the south side of building.
V. New Business
A. The Tree Programs Coordination Meeting scheduled for today has been cancelled.
VI.Board Recommendations/Input
A. Board Chair Elliott reminded the Board there are likely two board positions available
as one member has not attended a meeting in 4 – 5 months.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:25 pm.
